Hello! I’m Maya, a theatre director/writer/maker. My work aims to find and crack open cruxes of emotion through new articulations. Connection, attention and communication are at the core of what I do.
As a director, my most recent work includes Home Fires, a monologue about miscommunication and inheritance, written and directed by me, as well as adapting and directing Forward-Prize winning Emily Berry’s Stranger, Baby. As a writer, I work across genres but mostly in poems, plays and essays, and I regularly facilitate poetry workshops. Most recently I was comissioned by Chronic Insanity to write ONLYCONNECT, a digital interactive story about friendship, trust, and capitalism.
